We will be celebrating Daniel’s birthday in Melaka. Since he will be 4, I think it’s time to co-ordinate some games for the kids. We will be having about 15 kids age 1-10 whom mostly are his Uncles and Aunts and many adults. I have finished preparing the party favours yesterday. We will be having a Mickey Mouse theme party.
I have also finalised the menu for the party. We will be serving, Kueh Teow fried with Chili, Black Sauce Mee, Say Bak (prepared by my Godma), Chicken Rendang (prepared by my Mother in law), Sheperds Pie, Sambal Udang, Chicken Pong Teh & Mixed Veg.
All, I need to go shopping and buy stuff for the cake, wrap the prizes and finalise the games. Busy, busy, busy.
Of late, I enjoy observing the kids while they play on their own. Since our last train ride to watch Mickey’s Magic Show, they have been having lots of imaginary rides.
Daniel: Station Sg Besi(in deep tone). Ok, baby, we are here.
Marissa: Ok. I’ve got the popcorn.
Daniel: Let’s get back to the train. We are now going to Jelatek.
Marissa:Oh no, I forgot my popcorn and my phone.
Daniel: Quick, the train is leaving.
Now, they get me to sit on the train as well. I will sit for a while, pretend to reach my destination. Then get off and continue doing my work. They left me go provided that I have to catch the train again to get back home.
I feel so tired lately. Maybe it’s due to our busy schedule of going back to Melaka and Terence working on weekends. Even though I am a stay home mom, it gets pretty tiring. I’m sure Terence is as tired or maybe even more tired.
The last few days were lousy. I’ve been screaming and canning the kids. (Yeah..bad mummy). I’m going to leave them to do as they like for the rest of the day (probably another 4 hours, they did not nap, they should be in bed by 10pm.)
When I was moping th floor 2 days back, the kids see me and they run saying, “Oh no, the monster is coming” . Although they say it playfully, probably, that’s how they see me sometimes.
P/s: As I type this, both came saying: “Excuse me, Monster, do you see the pizza anywhere?” Ignored them, and they said: ‘Excuse me Mummy, do you see the pizza anywhere?” I gave them a book as a pizza and all is well again.
I need to be a mother more than a monster.
My biggest cheesecake fan is Daniel. Each time I experiment with a recipe, there will be no waste. My last favourite recipe was Baked Cheese Cake. Now, I will be making Chocolate Cheese Cake instead cause Terence also ate some of it.
The recipe for a really small cake.
Base:
6pcs of Oreo biscuit crushed.
2 tbsp melted butter.
Mix together and press to the bottom of the tray. Put in the refrigerator while preparing the filling.
Filling:
250gms Cream Cheese - soften at room temp.
1 tbsp granulated sugar
10 squares of cooking chocolate - melted and cooled (will weigh it the next time round)
1 egg
Mix cream cheese and sugar until it is well blended at medium speed. Add chocolate, and mix again. Lastly, the egg and mix at low speed. Pour over base. Bake at 160C for 40-45 mins or until the center is set. Allow to cool at room temprature and refrigerate over night.
Thank God the tickets were free. Half way thru the show, the kids wanted to go home. I guess it was more for the older kids and girls especially. Most of the time, the magic tricks featured the Disney Princesses like, Cinderella, Snow White, Belle, Alice in Wonderland, Jasmine, Ariel, etc. Among all the characters, the kids were only familiar with Snow White (they have watched more than 20 times because of the dwarfs), Ariel (The little Mermaid - which they have also seen for more than 10X) & Jasmine (Cause they have also watched Alladin for many many times) Alladin was one first cartoons that they watched, so their interest has also subside).
Overall, it was fun. The souvenirs were really costly. Pop corn (in box) was selling at RM10.00. A sugar cone with the Magician Hat cost RM30. We did not get any in the end. The kids were too tired since they slept at 12mn the night before and were up by 8am. So, we went back home after the show. They had their bath, lunch and nap (3 hrs). We spend the rest of they day at home, entertaining the kids. A good day with the family.
Yay, we won 4 tickets to go and watch Mickey’s Magic Show Live! The guy just delivered the tickets worth RM158 each. This is the 3rd time I’m receiving prizes from Play House Disney. 1st time was the Little Einstein Flash Cards, 2nd time Mickey Mouse Clubhouse Goodie Bag and now this. This is the most costly.
Daniel did mentioned that he wanted to go. The only way we are going is that if we win the tickets. I’m not going to spend RM600 for 1 1/2 hours worth of entertainment. Anyway, we are going. Swee Ping won too. Our seats are next to each other. Will write more tomorrow after the show. Found this trailer on You Tube promoting the Thailand event. Hopefully, it will be good.
My holiday is finally over…
No, we did not go for any trip, it’s just that due to the Fasting month and Hari Raya, they have not had any events on the weekends. The break ends here. Terence is back working this weekend. Thank God it’s a local event and he’s able to come back everyday.
Today, I offered to take my neighbour to the post office. She had to collect a parcel and since it was difficult to find a car park around the area, it would be best that I stayed in the car while she collected it.
At 11.30a.m., she was told that the Pos Laju guy is on a break and will only be back in an hour. No one else could assist. If you are considering to use Pos Laju, reconsider please.
Anyway, since it was almost 12, I offered to take her to fetch Jie-Sern from school. We were there a little early. This was our second time at the school. Marissa cried wanting to go to school. Took her in for a while and was asked if I wanted to try her out. So, if all is well, tomorrow both of them can go to school and I will be free from 9 to 12.
